Casey and Alex’s backyard Dartmouth wedding started on the cliffs of Lawrencetown and ended at home in Dartmouth, Nova Scotia. A full day that felt personal, relaxed, and completely their own.
They exchanged vows overlooking the ocean on a clear, sunny afternoon. Wide open coastline, crashing waves, and that raw Atlantic feel that defines this part of Nova Scotia. The setting did most of the work. Simple, focused, and grounded in the moment. No need to overcomplicate it.
Yes, the mosquitos showed up. One of the guests came prepared with repellant patches, and it was handled.
After the ceremony, everything shifted back to Dartmouth. Their backyard was transformed with long tables, string lights, and a layout that let the night unfold naturally. No rigid timeline, no pressure. Just people connecting, moving, and enjoying it.
Backyard weddings like this have a different energy. Slower, more personal, and easier to settle into. As the light dropped, the atmosphere changed. The lights came on, the music picked up, and it turned into a full night of dancing.
One of the most personal details was Casey’s dress, custom made by her bridesmaid, Elliot. It added another layer to the day and made everything feel even more considered.
This is a good example of how a wedding can move between locations and still feel cohesive. Coastal ceremony, backyard reception, and a day that stayed relaxed and intentional from start to finish.
